Celebrating 60 Years of China-France Relations: Cultural Exchange and Dialogue
On the afternoon of June 14, 2024, Teachdeme hosted the “60 Years of China-France Relations: Cultural Exchange and Dialogue – 2024 China-France Education and Culture Exchange Exhibition and Development Forum” at the Shanghai United International School Qingpu Campus. This event was organized with the support and participation of the Consulate General of France in Shanghai, the French Higher Education Agency, Atout France, and several French universities. The forum brought together numerous dignitaries from the education and cultural sectors of both countries to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, envisioning a future of deeper exchanges and cooperation in education and culture.
Part 01 – Summit Forum on China-France Education and Cultural Development
The forum gathered prominent figures from the education and cultural sectors of both nations, along with representatives of the younger generation, to explore and deepen cooperation in these fields.
Speech by the French Consulate General in Shanghai
Olivier Perez, Head of the French Higher Education Agency’s Shanghai Center, delivered a speech highlighting the fruitful outcomes of China-France educational and cultural exchanges. He expressed optimism about the future of deeper collaboration in various fields, resonating deeply with the audience.
Host’s Address
Jonathan Zhao, CEO of Teachdeme, emphasized the importance of increasing exchange and learning opportunities between Chinese and French youth. He discussed how academic exchanges can foster mutual understanding and strengthen educational cooperation, positioning Teachdeme as a key facilitator in promoting such initiatives.
Address by the Host School
Huang Ying, Principal of Shanghai United International School Qingpu Campus, delivered a speech titled “Six Decades of Sino-French Diplomatic Relations: Stable Progress and Lasting Friendship.” She reflected on the historical achievements of cultural exchanges between China and France and shared the school’s successes in nurturing future leaders in cross-cultural communication.

Jing Xun, Program Activity Officer at the French Higher Education Agency’s Shanghai Center, gave an informative presentation on the French education system and study policies, which piqued the interest of attending students and parents.

In the roundtable session titled “Think, Act, Impact,” prominent figures including Jieke Xu, Regional Office Manager for East and Southeast Asia at Grenoble Ecole de Management, and Jinyao Liu, Head of International Project Admissions at KEDGE Business School, shared insights on fostering China-France educational and cultural exchanges.
Part 02 – France Education and Culture Exhibition
The exhibition featured 21 renowned French universities, providing an invaluable opportunity for students and parents to explore study options in France. University representatives offered detailed information about academic programs, admission policies, and campus life, answering questions from attendees.
The event concluded with heartfelt thanks to the Consulate General of France in Shanghai, the French Higher Education Agency, Atout France, and participating universities for their support, as well as to Shanghai United International School Qingpu Campus for hosting the event.
